Amber Gill mocks after ex Greg O’Shea throws shade over Love Island win

Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea didn’t exactly have a fairytale ending after winning Love Island 2019 together. And it seems a year on, things are still pretty salty between the reality stars.

Greg, 25, has been called out by Amber’s fans for his response to her tweet marking a year since she won Love Island. Amber, 22, tweeted on Wednesday: ‘Can you believe its been one whole year since I won Love Island.’

The reality stars fans celebrated along with her, joking that she won the prize on her own and was the first ‘solo black Love Island winner’.  But Greg – who shared the £50,000 prize along with Amber – had something to say.

But then yesterday, the Irish rugby player responded: ‘Congrats.’ – and let’s just say, Team Amber was not having it. Some used his famous villa phrase ‘What was your thought process behind that?’ against him, while others demanded he return his half of the cash prize to Amber.  And it seems Amber was just as annoyed as her followers, if her likes are anything to go by.

The star liked a tweet with a green sick-face emoji above Greg’s post, as well as tweets reading ‘Go away’ and ‘Men really have the audacity’. Other posts liked by Amber read ‘get out my sisters mentions [sic]’ and ‘stay mad’. So yeah, we don’t see a surprise reunion coming for these two.

Greg was a very late arrival into the Love Island villa last summer, rocking up two weeks before the final. Fan favourite Amber had found herself mugged off by Michael Griffiths, who returned from Casa Amor with Joanna Chimonides, and decided to couple up with new boy Greg instead of forgiving Michael for his ‘chaldish’ behaviour.

And while we were all rooting for nice guy Greg, it’s widely accepted that they were crowned victors over Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury because of the nation’s love for Amber.

However, five weeks after the final and hours before they were due to appear on Ireland’s The Late Late Show together, it emerged that Greg had dumped Amber.
