Becca Kufrin Says Relationship With Garrett Yrigoyen Is Uncertain
Becca Kufrin has revealed where she stands with fiance Garrett Yrigoyen after his recent comments about the 'thin blue line' in support of law enforcement in the midst of weeks of protests over police brutality put him at the center of controversy.
The 30-year-old reality star opened up about her relationship with the 31-year-old medical sales rep on her Bachelor Happy Hour podcast released Tuesday.
As she already told co-host Rachel Lindsay that she disagrees with Garrett's 'tone-deaf' social media post and doesn't 'align' with his view point, she did shed a little bit of light on the state of their actual relationship.
She said: 'For those who are curious about my relationship with Garrett at this point, all I can say right now is that I don't know.
'I can't give anything more than that. It's something that we are trying to work through and discuss and do work on at home at this time and that's where the work will remain and that's really the best I can give you at this point.'
'When we recorded the podcast, it was also 18 hours after Garrett's social media post. I was dealing with trying to first wrap around my head that and also dealing with discord within my relationship and what it was causing between my family.
'In that moment, it felt like the reservoir in my brain had reached a maximum and as a human being, I couldn't process everything at once. I don't want this to be an excuse to justify my behavior but rather to give some context.'
Yrigoyen was criticized by many, including others within Bachelor Nation like Bekah Martinez, who slammed him for showing solidarity with police.
'Garrett is my fiancé and I love him and to his core, I believe that he is a good person,' Kufrin said. 'What he posted, I don't align with and I don't agree with.'
'I don't think he meant it in a malicious way,' she said. 'I do think it was tone-deaf, and it was the wrong time and message and sentiment. The 30-year-old added: 'I'm trying to get him to see the bigger picture.'
Later, she posted in a long Instagram message that she listened to the episode back and felt that she 'fell short' and wished she had said more.
Last Thursday, Garrett sparked outrage when he shared a black square to his Instagram page that had a 'thin blue line' running through it.
