Cassie Randolph Responds back to ex Colton Underwood regarding his post about their split
Cassie Randolph and former Bachelor Colton Underwood seemed to be amicable since their split in May.
But now the exes are going back and forth on social media since Cassie, 25, appeared in an interview for
The Bachelor: Greatest Seasons of All Time, on Monday.
Now the season 23 winner is claiming her ex of one and half years is trying to monetize their split despite their agreement to remain silent. 19.
Cassie (born Cassandra) posted a lengthy statement to her Instagram story on Thursday night, she responded to Colton, and claimed he had a double standard in writing a chapter about their split and getting upset when she spoke out even coyly.
Speaking directly to Colton in her post she wrote: 'Colton, as you know we made an agreement to not publicly discuss our break up. I have honored this, as have you thus far.'
Continuing: 'Colton, your last Instagram post saddened me, but also left me frustrated. It seems you are subtly engaging in a tactic that peppers in passive aggressive comments such as “that obviously changed this week” in order to make me look like the bad one.'
Seemingly after viewing Cassie's interview on the latest Bachelor episode Colton took to Instagram early on Thursday, echoing Cassie's earlier statement that they chose to remain private about the split, though seemed upset Cassie chose to say anything.
'When our relationship ended we agreed to handle things as privately as possible as we attempted to navigate our new relationship as friends,' he wrote. 'I chose to do that since we were living in this interim period, but obviously a lot changed this week.'
Adding: 'I have gained so much clarity about what I want and more importantly what I need in a relationship. I’m so excited for this next chapter of my life with new stories and new people. I can’t thank y’all enough for your understanding and your support during this time.'
'I would like to place on public record & ask you politely to refrain from discussing our relationship, as we agreed,' Cassie wrote to Colton.
The influencer added: 'I would also like to ask that you don’t cloud our great, 11/2 year relationship with a messy breakup. We both know that we had a great relationship and there are not many details to discuss.'
She went on to add that on Monday Colton let her know that he intended to 'monetize' their breakup 'by writing a new chapter to discuss your experiences with COVID (where you stayed in my family's house during your recovery) and about our break up.'
Colton released his book The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV in March of this year, and it seems he plans to add a chapter.
Cassie claimed that he 'refused' to allow her to approve if the chapter before it goes to print despite it 'heavily' featuring her.
'This seems a bit unfair to me. Colton, you can do what you want, but please do not have a double standard,' she said.
She publicly asked her ex to 'refrain from prolonging our break up or dragging me, when we both know it's unwarranted. Neither of us, or anyone close to us, would have ever predicted that I would have to write this post.'
'Again, I can’t control your actions but I sincerely hope we can both move forward in peace,' she wrote. 'Thanking you in advance. I would prefer this to now be the end of this. I wish you nothing but the best & hope you can move on peacefully and successfully.'
