Love Island tensions as Amber awkwardly 'steals' pal Amy's dream Loose Women job
Love Island winner Amber Gill has landed a role as a Loose Woman panelist - which may make things a bit awkward with Amy Hart.
Unlucky-in-love Amy admitted it was a "dream come true" when she joined the Loose ladies in the studio - and things got even better when she was invited back to be a guest panelist.
During the Love Island reunion, Amy told presenter Caroline Flack that she was "hoping" to be invited back to the panel for a more permanent role.
However, it appears Amy is still waiting for a call from the Loose Women bosses, who have instead opted to get her pal Amber in as a panelist.
While Amy, 26, only made one appearance on the actual panel, Amber, 21, could secure a permanent role if she is a hit with viewers.
Amber will have the chance to unleash her no-nonsense views on the nation again after landing the much sought-after gig.
And ITV Insiders believe Amber may have what it takes to be a regular fixture on the show if her debut next Wednesday goes well.
A source said: “She is opinionated, outspoken and sassy – all the ingredients to be a perfect Loose Woman. Bosses are excited to see how it goes.”
Amy and Amber appear to have very similar thoughts on the show as the Geordie beautician told the Mirror she had been “a fan of the show for ages”.
Adding that she was “super-excited to be joining the Loose panel”, Amber said: “Trust me, I’ll be giving my opinions on everything from cosmetic surgery to open relationships and blended families.”
A source said: “Her appearance was a real hit and viewers loved her, so it’s well worth giving her a shot at asking the questions.
“If she’s a success, a regular slot on the panel in the future could be on the cards.”
Amy has made it very clear that she loves Loose Women - even telling Caroline Flack during the reunion show that appearing on the programme was the best thing to happen to her since leaving the villa.
She said: "Loose Women. Absolute dream to be a guest and to be a panelist as well was amazing.
When asked if she would be going back, Amy cautiously added: "Hope so... if they'll have me."
Amy revealed on Instagram she is on a quest to "shout BINGO" on her ITV1 daytime card and also appear on Lorraine and Judge Rinder.
Speaking about her deep love for all things loose, Amy said: "I have watched Loose Women since I was about 14. I used to record it and watch it after school. I've sat in the audience four times and now I'm here."
Amy and Amber are not the only Islanders to have secured TV roles since leaving the villa this year.
Maura Higgins made her debut as an agony aunt on This Morning this week and proved a massive hit with viewers during a live phone-in.
Appearing at the very start of the show, Maura confessed: "It is literally a dream on mine. I just can't believe it. I'm pinching myself every few minutes.
