Must Watch Mission Mangalyan Trailer Gives Goosebumps

The trailer of Mission Mangal, starring Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen, Sharman Joshi and Kirti Kulhari has just hit the web.

The film tells the tale of how India made commendable achievements in space with the Mars Orbiter Mission. Jagan Shakti's Mission Mangal will bring forth the country's first interplanetary mission.

The trailer begins with Akshay Kumar's voiceover, "There is no science without experiment." The 2 minute and 52 second trailer shows the determination of a handful of scientists from different backgrounds, who battle all odds to launch the Mars Orbiter Mission.

The Mars Orbiter Mission was launched from the Sriharikota space port on November 5, 2013, and placed itself into the Martian orbit on September 24, 2014 on its first attempt. Though its mission life was expected to be six months, the satellite completed 1000 days in its orbit in June 2017 and even now contributes science data from Mars.

In an earlier tweet, Akshay revealed that he chose Mission Mangal specially for his daughter and children her age and to "familiarise them with the incredible true story of India’s mission to Mars".

He had written, "For several years, Hollywood made movies and TV shows like Star Trek, Star Wars, Gravity etc. This inspired an entire generation of inventors, scientists and explorers. I have always wanted to be part of one such movie... A movie that inspires our future generations... One that celebrates imagination and curiosity."

"Mission Mangal is that film for me... A film that I hope, will inspire as much as it will entertain. Based on the incredible true story of India's mission to Mars, Mission Mangal is a film about ordinary people achieving the extraordinary... A story that proves that creativity, ideas and dreams have no limit... just like the sky! This Independence Day, the sky is not the limit," he added.
